Many students at CEGEP can stay at home during their studies, but some students come from other cities or even other countries.

Grammar
Making simple present and present progressive questions.
To make questions in the simple present, you need a helper. That helper is called Axel, the chameleon auxiliary. Axel likes to play games and take on different forms depending on the verb.
Ex: do, does – verbs that are not “be”
am, are, is – “be” verbs
Check this out:
I live in Granby – where is Axel, the aux? He is hiding, so we need to bring him into the open. What auxiliary goes with a simple present verb that does not have an “s”? – DO. Our Axel verb is DO.
I live in Granby. Where DO you live?
She studies nursing? What DOES she study?
Axel is something of a chameleon. If the verb takes an “s,” Axel takes an “s”
She studies nursing? What doES she study?
But like chameleon geckos, Axel loses his tail when he gets scared; that is why the verb no longer has an “s.” Axel’s tail is on the auxiliary because it fell off the verb.
What DOES she study? (not studies)
He works at Maxi.
Where DOES he work? (not works)
But, Axel is lazy…
If there is an auxiliary in your sentence, just use it again. That means that Axel will not lose his tail, and your verb will not change. That is what happens with present progressive verbs.
Regina IS feeling sad. (Axel – IS)
How IS Regina feeling? (verb form does not change)
Enzo and Lisa ARE preparing their presentation.
What ARE Enzo and Lisa preparing?
Finally, Axel does not want to be the centre of attention but he does want to be noticed. That is why he likes to go after the question word.

Emma moves to a new city for school. She feels lonely because her family is far away. She misses them a lot. One day, she sees some students in the park. They talk about a hiking club. Emma likes nature, so she asks if she can join. They say yes!Â
The next week, Emma goes hiking with the group. They walk on beautiful trails in the forest. Emma feels happy. She talks to a girl named Sarah. Sarah also studies nursing. They become friends. Emma gets Sarah’s phone number.Â
After that, Emma feels better. She learns that joining clubs and trying new things helps her make friends. She is no longer lonely.Â
